Applications
XIRAN® SMA copolymers are produced either as an engineering plastic or as water soluble polymers. Due to the unique nature of Polyscope’s production process, Polyscope SMA is able to offer the best of both worlds in a range of key applications.
Automotive
XIRAN® SMA co-polymers are increasingly being selected by leading car manufacturers for automotive interior components such as instrument panel retainers, air ducts and finishing trim. This choice is driven by the co-polymer’s high temperature stability, a dimensional precision and adhesion characteristics, important to attach a soft, foamed skin.
Paper
Applied as a component in paper-sizing the Polyscope SMA. XIRAN® SMA is used in a range of water soluble applications such as paper sizing, coatings, adhesives and additives. Applied as a component in paper-sizing, XIRAN® SMA helps to obtain smooth paper finishes and gives better printability with less ink ‘bleeding’.
Industrial
XIRAN® SMA is used in a range of injection moulding and water soluble applications such as adhesives and additives for the building & construction industry. Thanks to Polyscope Polymers’ advanced material and application development programmes, XIRAN® SMA helps to deliver maximised performance, safety and productivity.
